KDRAMA WATCH: AUGUST

Every good drama comes to an end and with that end is left a empty space. A void to be filled by the next drama aspiring to win the viewers hearts and claim the title of “Best Drama of the Year.”I can not say I am a K-Drama expert but I can definitely aspire to be called a genius. because of this I’ve decided to get a bit more serious and each month I will see if I can keep my streak.

Protect the Boss

Every drama I have had my eye on so far have turned into viewing gold. We have City Hunter as a prime example of that. Before the drama even had a release date I was itching at the seems to see it. Boy was I blown away! I knew it would be amazing but…OMG WAS IT EVER!!! Sadly all great things come to an end but its only a new beginning for something else. In the case of City Hunter we will see it replaced by Protect the Boss. A K-Drama that I ‘m sure I’m not the only one anticipating. I’d like to say that the storyline was what drew me in but I would be lying out my ass. It had like 90% to do with the fact that Hero will be co-starring. Yes, Hero, formally of DBSK now of JYJ, and always one of the prettiest boys of the Hallyu Wave. Set to air August 3rd the story centers around No Eun Seol who finally gets a job as a secretary at a law firm after struggling with unemployment, only to fall in love with her boss, Cha Ji Heon, the immature youngest son of a chaebol family. Storyline seems simple but I’m sure it will be filled with shenanigans!

Can’t Live With Losing

Conversely, another drama that has garnered my interest because of its cast is Can’t Live With Losing . Coming off his success in Secret Garden we have Yoon Sang Hyun. His quirky character in that drama as well as his past role in Take Care of the Young Lady has made him one of my favorite actors-enough for me to follow his work. The drama will be airing its pilot episode on August 24th and is slated to take the place of Heartstrings. For now the official title and air date are tentative and the only thing released about the storyline is that it will follow the lives of 2 divorce lawyers coming out of bad marriages themselves. I’m curious to find out if Yoon Sang Hyun will once again be playing the goofy role.

Blind

The uniqueness of this movies plot really caught my attention. Premiering on the 11th Blind  is a human thriller were in the only witness to a heinous crime is a blind person. I’ve never been one for thrillers but my curiosity has been seriously peaked. How in the world will a blind person be able to help solve a crime?

╚╝╚╝╚╝╚╝╚╝New Year 2011 ^^ ………2010 could not have ended on a better light for K-pop. So many great performances and special stages I can hardly pick a favorite. I was lucky enough to be able to catch all the live footage from KPOPFLASH but I ended watching it again on ALLKPOP. I swear SBS, KBS, and MBC put on some fantastic shows!

*Side Note: I was in an awful automobile accident on the 31st. Normally that isn’t something to be happy about but I cant help but see it as a good omen. It kind of represents the clearing of all bad karma and can only mean that 2011 is going to ROCK! *

I cant be sure about my luck thus far but I do know that 2011 is full of comebacks from a lot of my favorite artists and that alone is enough to make me hopeful for the rest of the year.

We start off January with MBLAQ. They just dropped the MV for Cry…and my-oh-my it is SEXY!! I feel pregnant after watching it… There is supposed to be a second title track and if its anything like Cry I cant wait to have twins!!!

Now GD&TOP released their MV for Knock Out today which of course makes me super HAPPY. My only concern…whats with the anorexic looking white chicks? If I didn’t like the song so much maybe I would more attention to the video so I guess I can bypass the white trashiness.

DBSK is also to release Keep Your Head Down on the 5th and already controversy about the lyrics is all over. Netizens stipulate that it’s a message to JYJ- I for one don’t buy it for a minute. The song however is stuck in my head! I’m so happy that even with out 3 members DBSK still sounds like DBSK (albeit with an edgier feel). I anticipate this album to be one of the HOTTEST of the year!

We also have Teen Top releasing their album this month (though which day I don’t know). These boys have me really curious after they released their teaser photo. I’m not sure I like the concept but I loved Clap so I can only hope their comeback will deliver!

Secret swing dance single is to release on the 6th. From their teaser I can only get one thing…the song is going to be CUTE! I’m really looking forward to seeing the MV.

I‘m sure there are quite a few more stars with comebacks scheduled for January but I don’t recall anymore off the top of my head. I do know that January isn’t the only month to look forward to. No siree! March has After School with their 9th member. I cant wait for a teaser of their album!

Now oddly enough this year also seems to be chock full of army enlistments. We ended 2010 with a few of my favorites enlisting (namely Kangmin of Super Junior). but as if that wasn’t enough, we are starting it off the same. There’s Lee Seung Gi, Super Junior’s leader Lee Teuk, and even Rain. It makes me really sad and worried but I know they will all come back hale and hearty!

Now with all the wonderful artists coming out with tracks, there is another group that has me all a-flutter- B2st!!! I’ve become a total B2uty after watching their Mnet performances yesterday . What really has me mystified though is that in all 3 duets the boys show off their musical talent beautifully –not to mention of course that each song was composed and produced by the members and fits into a different genre!

Now with all this year end fun I cant help but to think to the future. And when I do I get DBSK (or as I now term it YJ), JYJ and MBLAQ!!! I really cannot wait to hear the new tracks these guys put out. YJ for one has me really anxious – I’m sure all Cassies are dying of anticipation! From what I gather they will be releasing their album sometime in January, along with several other groups. MBLAQ is amongst the groups releasing new work but what so anticipated is that this was work that should have released a while back. Now sources say that MBLAQ was working on creating something really special for the fans- which of course makes me SUPER excited! I’m more excited about the album drops then I am about caroling tonight…and I’m WAY EXCITED ABOUT CAROLING LOL
